When a burner starts burning yellow or lighting slowly in these kitchens, the likeliest explanation is residue, and clearing it is usually faster than any parts replacement.

Yellow flame and blocked ports

A yellow or orange flame means the gas is not getting enough air to burn cleanly. Grease in the burner venturi or partly blocked ports is the usual cause in a busy kitchen, and cleaning the burner base and head restores a blue flame.

If the yellow flame continues after cleaning, the air shutter or orifice may need adjusting. That is gas work, and we do it rather than asking you to.
