Vulcan builds commercial cooking equipment for professional kitchens, around heavy gas manifolds and individually replaceable burners, pilots, thermostats and safety valves. A Vulcan range top in continuous use can serve for decades if it is maintained.

Vulcan Cooktop · Greater Boston
Vulcan Cooktop repair across Greater Boston
In Greater Boston restaurants and institutional kitchens, downtime costs covers. We plan work around service where we can, and same-day visits are often possible, though never promised.
Grease, carbon and uneven flames
Continuous cooking coats burner ports with grease and carbon, and the flame turns uneven or lazy long before it fails. Cleaning the burners properly restores output; damaged burners are replaced.
A yellow, sooty flame is a combustion problem, and that burner should be taken out of use until it is corrected. Scheduled cleaning of the ports and pilot orifices is the single most useful maintenance a busy kitchen can do.
Pilots and ignition
Depending on its generation, a Vulcan top may use standing pilots or spark ignition. Pilots that burn weakly, go out or fail to light a burner are cleaned, adjusted or replaced, along with any thermocouple or safety device in the circuit.
Spark ignition on busy equipment fails from contamination rather than age, and the same cleaning discipline applies. Kitchen draughts from doors and extraction can also blow out a weak pilot.
Gas work, without exception
Every Vulcan gas repair is isolated at the shut-off and leak-tested at each disturbed joint before the equipment returns to service. Thermostat and safety valve faults are handled the same way.
The technician names the failed part and the price before work begins, and manufacturer-specified parts are the default. Commercial fryers and steamers in the same line bring oil and water circuits of their own, which we can look at on the same visit.
Questions
FAQ — Vulcan Cooktop repair
Can't see yours? Just ask us.
Can you work around our restaurant's service hours?
Where the schedule allows, yes. Tell the dispatcher your service times when booking. Arrival is within a three-hour window confirmed by the dispatcher.
A pilot on our Vulcan range keeps going out. Is it the pilot?
It may be a dirty pilot, a draught, or a failing thermocouple or safety valve. The technician tests the circuit before replacing anything.
Is an old Vulcan worth repairing?
Almost always. It is built from individually replaceable parts designed for rebuilding. Parts availability for the specific model is confirmed at diagnosis.
