Wolf's sealed burners are stacked in two tiers, one for full output and a small inner ring for a genuine low simmer. Each burner carries its own spark electrode, and each piece is a serviceable part on equipment designed to be rebuilt.

Wolf Cooktop · Greater Boston
Wolf Cooktop repair across Greater Boston
Wolf belongs to the same group as Sub-Zero, and across Greater Boston the two are often installed together. One visit can usually cover a Wolf cooktop and a Sub-Zero column in the same kitchen.
Losing the simmer
The lower tier works through small ports that clog easily. When they are partly blocked, the simmer flame becomes patchy, goes out on the lowest setting or will not hold at all, while the upper tier still roars happily.
Owners tend to assume a failing valve. In practice cleaning the lower ports and checking the electrode position restores the simmer in most cases.
Clicking after the burner has lit
Wolf's re-ignition relies on the electrode sensing flame. When that electrode is fouled with residue or slightly out of position, the system believes the burner has gone out and keeps sparking even though the flame is burning.
Cleaning or replacing the electrode stops it. We also check the switch behind the knob, since moisture there produces the same continuous clicking.
Gas, grates and output
Uneven flame on the upper tier is the same story at larger scale: ports partly obstructed so the flame runs unevenly rather than disappearing. Anything beyond cleaning, including valves and supply fittings, is technician work with a leak test at every disturbed joint.
The technician names the failed part before quoting, and same-day visits are often possible when the dispatcher has a technician nearby.
Questions
FAQ — Wolf Cooktop repair
Can't see yours? Just ask us.
My Wolf burner will not stay lit on its lowest setting. Is the valve failing?
Rarely. The simmer ports or the electrode are the usual cause, and both are simple to clean or replace.
Why does my Wolf cooktop keep clicking with the flame on?
The electrode is not sensing the flame, usually because it is dirty or misaligned. A switch damp from cleaning can also cause it.
Can you look at my Sub-Zero on the same visit?
Yes, as long as you mention both when booking so the technician allows time and brings the right parts.
