Panel or board?

When a Bosch surface ignores touches, flickers or turns zones on by itself, the first suspect is moisture or residue on the glass, then the touch electronics, then the board. Wiping the glass dry and removing any damp cloth or pan resting on the controls is a safe owner check.

If the behaviour persists, the technician tests the panel and board as separate items. Because Bosch sells them separately, a display fault does not have to become a board bill.

Cookware detection and hum

An induction zone that flashes and will not heat usually has not recognised the pan. Thin or non-magnetic bases, pans smaller than the zone and warped bottoms all cause it; a fridge magnet stuck firmly to the base is a quick compatibility test.

Some hum or buzz with certain pans is normal induction behaviour. A new rattle, a fan that races or a zone that shuts down after a few minutes is different: Bosch equipment runs quietly, so an unfamiliar sound is worth reporting early, and cabinet airflow beneath the unit is checked first.

Switch faults on radiant and gas

On Bosch radiant surfaces with knob controls, a surface element or infinite switch that has failed leaves one zone stuck high or dead. On gas, electrodes and ports account for most calls.
