Not Spinning
Not Spinning means the drum fills, washes and drains but never reaches spin speed, so the load comes out soaked. On a front-loader the belt, motor drive or door lock is usually implicated; on a top-loader the lid switch, clutch or drive coupler. The wash itself looks normal, which is what makes the fault easy to misread.

- Repair
- We confirm the drain step completes first, because a tub still holding water will never be allowed to spin. Motor windings, the speed sensor and the control output are measured under a spin command. The failed part is replaced and a spin proven against a damp load.

Not Draining
Not Draining leaves a full tub of water at the end of the cycle and a door that may refuse to release. Most cases are an obstruction rather than a dead pump, since coins, wire and lint collect in the filter and sump. Left standing, the water sours quickly and escapes across the floor when the door is forced.

Making Loud Noise covers any sound that is new and louder than the machine's normal working note. The character matters more than the volume: a rumble points at bearings, a rattle at loose debris, a knock at suspension. Won't Start
Won't Start describes a washer with lights and a display that accepts a programme but never begins filling or turning. That is different from a machine with no power at all. The control is waiting on an interlock it cannot satisfy, most often the door lock or a water supply it cannot see.

Not Filling with Water means the cycle starts but no water enters the drum, so the machine either sits waiting or eventually reports a supply fault. The cause lies in the path from the tap to the inlet valve, or in the sensing that tells the control how full the tub already is. Nothing else in the cycle can proceed until fill completes.

Door Won't Lock
Door Won't Lock means the interlock never engages, so the programme cannot begin. Front-loaders will not run at all without it and top-loaders with a lid lock behave the same way. The cause is usually mechanical alignment or a failed lock assembly rather than anything in the wash system itself.

Vibrating Excessively describes a machine that shakes hard enough to be heard through the building during spin. Some vibration is normal; movement that rattles cupboards is not. The cause is either the load, the floor and feet, or worn suspension that no longer damps the drum as it travels.

Not Agitating applies to top-loaders whose drum fills normally but whose agitator does not move the load, so clothes come out wetted rather than washed. The drive train between motor and agitator is where to look. On many machines the failure is a small plastic part rather than the motor or gearcase.

Clothes Not Getting Clean means the cycle runs to completion but the wash result is poor, with soiling and smell left in the fabric. This is usually a fault of water, dose or mechanical action rather than a broken component. It is worth ruling out overloading before any part of the machine is condemned.
