- Stair-carry
- Triple-deckers and two-family houses, third floor and up.
- How many technicians and whether a stair dolly is needed are settled when you book, rather than discovered on the doorstep with a machine half out of its recess.
- Clearance
- Pre-war galley kitchens and brownstone conversions.
- Where a machine will not come out past the trim, the trim comes off first — in the right order, and it goes back the way it was found.
- Building access
- Condominium, co-op and managed buildings.
- Certificate of insurance filed and the service lift booked before dispatch, so the visit is not turned away at the desk.
- Basement runs
- Single-family stock with the laundry two flights down.
- Long vent runs are measured rather than assumed. A restricted duct outlives every heating element it burns out, so it is checked before a part is quoted.
- Unheated space
- Garage and porch refrigerators and freezers.
- Below the ambient temperature they are rated for, these stop cooling without reporting a fault at all — checked before the sealed system is opened.
- Stacked units
- Compact and stacked equipment in rentals and conversions.
- It comes out through the door it went in through, which is not always the door it is now standing in front of.

Independent, so the badge on the door does not decide whether we can open it. We diagnose from the model number, because several of these marks share a platform.
Questions
Home Appliance Repair — FAQ
Can't see yours? Just ask us.
Do I have to be home for the visit?
Someone over eighteen needs to be there to give the technician access and to approve the price before work starts. If the property is a rental, we need written authorisation from whoever is paying before the visit rather than a conversation about it on the doorstep.
Will you protect my floors and cabinets?
Technicians carry floor protection and appliance sliders and use them by default. Water is shut off and lines drained before a dishwasher or plumbed refrigerator is pulled, and gas appliances are isolated at the shut-off before disconnection. None of that is an extra — it is the standard for the visit.
My building requires a certificate of insurance.
Most Greater Boston condominium associations and managed buildings do. Tell us the building when you call and our coordinator files the certificate and books the service elevator or loading dock before the technician is dispatched, so the visit is not turned away at the door.
Can you look at more than one appliance while you are here?
Yes, and it is worth asking. A second fault diagnosed on the same visit costs you no additional call-out. It is why we ask what else is in the property when the appointment is booked — a three-decker or a Newton Victorian often has appliances on three different floors.
Do you work on appliances you did not install?
Almost all of them. We are a repair company, not a retailer, so the appliance's history with us is irrelevant to whether we will service it. What we do check during diagnosis is whether a previous repair used the wrong component, because that is a recurring cause of faults that will not stay fixed.
How quickly can you get here?
The phone is answered 24 hours a day, and same-day service is usually achievable if you reach us before midday. We run Greater Boston as a set of routes — the harbor towns, the inner core inside Route 128, the Route 2 and Route 3 corridors, and the North Shore — rather than one territory, so a call landing on a route already in motion can normally be added to it. Call (857) 491-4488 and the coordinator will tell you what is genuinely open today rather than booking a window we cannot hold. Evening and overnight calls are normally scheduled for first thing the next morning.
