Manufacturers we service
Kenmore never built ranges itself. Each model came from one of several manufacturers depending on the line and the year, and two Kenmore ranges that look nearly alike can hide entirely different igniters, sensors and boards.

Kenmore Range repair across Greater Boston
The model number settles the question. Its opening digits identify the maker behind the badge, and from there a Kenmore range is serviced exactly as that maker's own range would be, with the same parts and the same known weaknesses.
Why we ask for the number before we come
Without the model number, a technician turns up with parts for a guess. With it, we know which platform we are walking into, which fault codes to expect and which parts are likely to be needed, and the odds of finishing in one visit rise. The plate is usually on the frame behind the lower drawer or around the oven door opening.
If the plate is missing or worn, the technician can often identify the platform from the construction, but that takes longer and parts may have to follow.
Typical faults once the maker is known
Gas Kenmore ovens from most builders pair a glowing igniter with the safety valve in series, and an igniter that has aged enough can glow without opening the valve. Electric models lose bake and broil elements and suffer sensor drift that pushes baking off course. On the cooktop, a worn surface switch leaves one element stuck high or dead.
None of those is a Kenmore fault as such. Each belongs to whichever manufacturer built the range, and it is diagnosed on that basis.
Separating the top from the oven
Whatever its origin, a Kenmore range is two cooking systems sharing a frame and a panel. A burner problem rarely explains a cavity problem, so we establish which half is at fault before opening anything.
That keeps the visit short and the quote specific to one part rather than a list of possibilities.
Questions
FAQ — Kenmore Range repair
Can't see yours? Just ask us.
Is my Kenmore range too old to repair?
Age matters less than who built it and whether that maker still supplies the part. Mechanical items usually remain available; older electronic controls are less certain, and we check before quoting.
Should the original maker's parts go on a Kenmore?
Yes. Once the model number identifies the builder, that maker's parts are the correct ones, and they are our default choice.
My Kenmore gas oven smells briefly of gas as it lights. Is that normal?
A faint whiff at ignition is common and often linked to slow lighting from an ageing igniter. A smell that lingers, or appears with the oven off, is not normal: turn it off, ventilate, leave if the smell is strong and call the gas utility from outside.
