Salt on the hinges and the terminals

An oven sitting a block from open water breathes damp, salty air every time a window is open. We see it on the outside of the appliance first, as rust on door hinges and on the screws holding the kick panel, and later on the spade connectors behind a bake element, where corrosion raises resistance until the terminal overheats.

Night calls and gas smells
