Manufacturers we service
Viking takes its cues from the commercial kitchen: weighty gas manifolds, sealed burners with their own spark igniters, and thick, well-insulated oven doors. Every one of those pieces can be removed and replaced on its own.

Viking Oven · Greater Boston
Viking Oven repair across Greater Boston
That is why an elderly Viking is still a repair job. A range that has cooked through twenty Boston winters can normally be brought back to form rather than wheeled out to the kerb, provided the diagnosis is done in the right order.
When the door is the fault
A professional oven door hangs a lot of mass from two springs. As they weaken, the door rests slightly open at the top or drops instead of easing down, and the cavity sheds heat faster than the burner or element can replace it.
We measure the door gap and spring tension before touching the thermostat. New springs and a fresh gasket restore temperature on more Viking ovens than any control part does, and they are inexpensive by comparison.
Igniters and burner ports
Each sealed burner on a Viking has an individually replaceable spark igniter. Spills and cleaning residue foul the electrode or partly block the ports, so a burner lights late, burns unevenly or clicks without catching.
Cleaning or renewing the igniter and clearing the ports is routine work. The gas valve is rarely the culprit, and it is left alone unless testing proves otherwise.
Viking oven safety valves and thermocouples
On gas Viking ovens a thermocouple or safety valve confirms that a flame is present before gas is allowed to keep flowing. When either weakens, the oven lights and then goes out, or never holds a flame at all.
This is gas-train work, so the supply is isolated, the part replaced and every disturbed joint leak-tested before the oven goes back into service. None of it is a task for the homeowner.
Questions
FAQ — Viking Oven repair
Can't see yours? Just ask us.
My Viking door no longer shuts tightly. Does that affect cooking?
Considerably. A door that fails to seal lets heat escape continuously, giving long preheats and uneven bakes that look exactly like an element or thermostat fault.
Is a very old Viking range worth repairing?
Usually. Burners, igniters, valves, thermostats and hinges are all separate parts, so the range can be kept working for years rather than replaced. We confirm part availability during diagnosis.
Why does a Viking burner keep clicking after it lights?
The electrode is typically fouled or damp, so the module never registers the flame. Letting it dry fully sometimes helps; if not, cleaning or replacing the electrode normally cures it.
