DCS sits within Fisher & Paykel as its professional cooking range, designed around heavy grates, high-output burners and parts meant to be replaced rather than discarded. Igniters, burner ports and ceramic infrared broiler elements are the recurring service items.

DCS Stove repair across Greater Boston
A good share of DCS equipment lives outdoors, and along the shore in places such as Winthrop, Nahant, Marblehead and Cape Ann the mix of sea air, winter weather and road salt attacks electrical connections in ways a kitchen stove never faces.
Corrosion at the spark
Salt-laden air settles on electrode tips, terminal crimps and wiring. The result is a spark that weakens, jumps to the wrong place or disappears, even though the module itself may be fine.
The technician cleans or replaces corroded electrodes and connectors and checks the module output. Covering outdoor equipment after use slows the damage noticeably.
After a winter off
Units left unused through the colder months can come back with valve stems that have stiffened or seized. A knob that is hard to turn, or turns without the valve responding, needs attention before the burner is used.
Don't force a stiff knob. Seized valves are freed or replaced by the technician, and every gas joint is leak-tested before the unit goes back into service.
Ports and infrared broilers
High output means heavy spatter, and grease and carbon narrow the burner ports until the flame runs uneven. Cleaning a cold burner restores most; damaged burners are replaced.
Infrared broilers use ceramic elements that can crack or clog. These are replaceable parts, and a broiler that glows patchily usually needs a single component.
Questions
FAQ — DCS Stove repair
Can't see yours? Just ask us.
Do indoor DCS stoves suffer corrosion too?
Far less. Indoor units mainly wear at igniters and ports from ordinary cooking; the salt-air problem is mostly an outdoor and coastal one.
How should I prepare my outdoor DCS for winter?
Clean off grease, let it dry, and fit a proper cover. Any work on the gas connection itself should be left to a technician.
My DCS knob turns but nothing happens. What does that mean?
The knob may be spinning on a worn stem, or the valve itself may have seized. Stop using that burner and have it inspected.
