That creates two quite different service cases. Burners, electrodes and hinges on any Dacor remain economic to repair well into the appliance's second decade; on pre-acquisition units, the boards are what may prove impossible to source.

Gas burners and spark electrodes

Dacor's gas cooktops ignite each burner with its own electrode, and the familiar faults are all there: continuous clicking from a damp electrode, a burner that won't catch because its cap has shifted, or a cracked insulator that sparks to the wrong place.

These are mechanical repairs regardless of age, and they are where most Dacor cooktop calls end. The technician tests the electrode and switch, cleans the burner and leak-tests any gas joint disturbed.

Touch controls and display boards

On electronically controlled Dacor stoves, a touch panel that is intermittent or partly unresponsive may be the display board rather than the main control. The newer Samsung-derived electronics are well documented and well supplied.

Older boards need a supply check before anything else. If one cannot be obtained, we say so at diagnosis rather than after ordering. Where a mechanical fault and an electronic one appear together on an older unit, we price them separately so you can decide which is worth doing.

Heavy doors on the oven

Professional-grade doors are weighty, and hinge wear and hardened seals let heat escape. The cooktop above is unaffected, but oven results suffer and preheating takes noticeably longer.

Hinges and gaskets are standard replacements. The temperature sensor is measured at the same visit to rule out drift.
