Manufacturers we service
Admiral is a legacy badge in the Whirlpool family, and the stoves wearing it are Whirlpool or Maytag engineering underneath. Most predate control boards: knobs, switches, a mechanical clock and elements wired straight to them.

That makes diagnosis fast and inexpensive. It also means the visit is shaped by age, so we check part availability while testing rather than after you have agreed to go ahead.
Burned element receptacles
On coil-top Admiral stoves, the plug-in socket for each element takes years of heat and current. The contacts loosen, resistance rises, and eventually the socket blackens and the element works only when pressed down.
Replacing a coil without its receptacle is a false economy, because the scorched socket damages the new terminals. We replace both when either shows burning, and that position should stay off until then.
Parts found by cross-reference
Some components are no longer listed under the Admiral number. Because the platform lives on in Whirlpool and Maytag production, a matching part can usually be identified from the sibling catalogues.
Proprietary electronics are the exception, but on most Admiral stoves there are few of them to worry about. Switches, elements, igniters and thermostats remain the norm.
Gas Admirals and older ignition
Older gas Admiral stoves may still use a standing pilot rather than electronic sparks. A pilot that has gone out, or a thermocouple that no longer holds its safety valve open, stops the burner or oven from lighting.
Relighting pilots and replacing thermocouples involves the gas train, so it is work for the technician. A pilot that keeps going out points to draughts, a dirty pilot orifice or a tired thermocouple, and each has a clear test.
Questions
FAQ — Admiral Stove repair
Can't see yours? Just ask us.
Is it worth fixing a stove this old?
Frequently. Repairs on Admiral stoves are simple and sit at the lower end of cost, provided the part is obtainable, which we check first.
My coil element only works if I push it down. Why?
The terminals or the receptacle have worn and lost contact. Stop using that position until both are inspected, as the connection can arc.
Are Admiral parts really Whirlpool parts?
Largely, since Admiral engineering came from Whirlpool and Maytag. Cross-referencing by model number finds most replacements.
