Newer units: Samsung behaviour

Current Dacor microwaves share diagnostic behaviour and control layout with Samsung equipment, so our technician can use the same structured tests. Parts support for this generation is considerably better.

Touch control and display faults are common on both generations. On the newer units, the panel and the board can be separated and tested individually. That separation stops a display fault from turning into a full board replacement.

Older units: check the board first

On pre-acquisition Dacor microwaves, proprietary control boards are the parts most likely to be unobtainable. We establish their availability during diagnosis, before you commit to anything.

Mechanical faults on these older units are a different story. Door hardware, switches, fans and turntable drives generally remain serviceable well into the appliance's second decade.

No heat or no start

Every Dacor call splits along the same two lines. No start suggests the door and interlocks; running without heat points to the magnetron, diode, capacitor or inverter.

The high-voltage branch is handled only after the capacitor is discharged. Heavy built-in doors also get their hinges and seals checked, since sagging can upset the interlocks.
