Appliance repair in Braintree & Randolph
Our Braintree & Randolph work covers Braintree Highlands, South Braintree, East Braintree, Weymouth Landing, Randolph centre and the Route 28 corridor. We reach it off Route 3 at the split, Route 37 and Route 28. The town-level facts that actually change a diagnosis are the supply — the Great Pond reservoir system, shared with Holbrook and treated at the new Tri-Town regional plant — and driveways and garages on the single-family streets.
Postwar basement and garage laundry with long horizontal runs and two or three elbows before daylight, plus condominium stacks where several units share a riser and a single termination. The shared riser generates four identical complaints from four different owners in the same week, and the first of those calls is where it gets identified as one building problem rather than four appliance problems. That is the part of a Braintree & Randolph appliance no owner can inspect and no national dispatcher knows about. On the kitchen side, full-size freestanding in the capes, splits and colonials, and compact or stacked in the condominium stock, sometimes on the same street. The model number decides the parts rather than the address, which is why we press for it at booking here more than almost anywhere else in the county.
Locally, neither town is on the MWRA. Both draw from the Great Pond reservoir system that Braintree, Randolph and Holbrook have shared for generations, and the figures matter because the usual assumption is wrong in both directions. This is not reservoir-soft: Braintree's 2017 report put hardness at 62.5 mg/L and Randolph's 2022 report at 58.3 ppm, three to four times the MWRA figure. Nor is it hard the way Dedham and Westwood are. Randolph's 2022 report also recorded manganese at 66 ppb against a 50 ppb secondary standard and iron at 80 ppb, which is a staining and speckling issue rather than a health one but reaches us regularly as a failed seal or a dirty drum. The supply also genuinely changed recently: the new Tri-Town regional plant, built to strip PFAS, was approved by MassDEP and began blending into the existing supply in July 2026, so the chemistry here is newer than the reports describing it and we treat pre-2026 assumptions about taste, colour and deposit with caution. What is also specifically true of Braintree & Randolph is that two towns sharing one reservoir, one treatment plant and a condominium-heavy housing stock, and the water they share is neither the soft reservoir supply of the inner core nor the hard groundwater of the county's western half, which is why the advice here sits deliberately between the two.
