The safety chain

When lint or a crushed hose traps hot air, the protections open and the drum keeps turning without heat. Replacing them without clearing the restriction only repeats the trip.

We check the vent and the airflow first, then the cut-offs and the heat source. On gas models the burner assembly is added to that sequence, with the igniter and valve coils tested without anyone disturbing the supply line.
