Measuring the airflow

Door switch and start faults

A failed door switch stops the dryer from starting at all, and can look like a dead control. The thermal fuse can do the same if it has opened.

Both are quick to test with a meter, and the technician names the failed part before quoting. If the drum turns but will not heat, the high-limit thermostat and the element are measured next, in that order.
