The trap is that those symptoms look exactly like a weak fill valve. A replaced valve on a starved line behaves identically to the old one, so we measure what reaches the fridge before we recommend anything.

Measuring before replacing

A fill valve opens for a set number of seconds and trusts the supply to deliver the right volume. If pressure at the end of a long run sags, the mould underfills, cubes come out thin, and the harvest cycle proceeds anyway. A timed catch into a jug at the valve settles the question in a few minutes.

Where the reading is poor, the answer may be a shorter feed from a nearer branch or clearing a partly closed stop somewhere along the route. That is plumbing advice, and we give it plainly rather than fitting a valve that cannot help.
