Fisher & Paykel's DishDrawer houses one or two independent drawers, each with its own wash motor, drain pump and a powered lid that seals the drawer during the cycle. One drawer can stop entirely while the other runs normally.

Fisher & Paykel Dishwasher repair across Greater Boston
That independence is useful for owners and demanding for diagnosis. The technician treats each drawer as a separate machine.
The lid seal and lift
When the cycle starts, a motorised lid lowers onto the drawer to seal it. The seal and its lift mechanism are the source of most DishDrawer leaks, particularly when an item sticks up and stops the lid from closing flat.
Water can then escape over the edge and into the cabinet below. The technician checks the seal, the lift and the loading before moving on.
Owners sometimes notice the lid seal looking stretched or out of its channel. A seal that has lifted from its groove is a common cause of slow leaks and is replaced as a single part.
Draining and washing per drawer
Each drawer has its own drain pump and check valve, so standing water in one drawer points to that drawer's drain path. A weak wash in one drawer points to that drawer's motor or filter.
If neither drawer fills, the fault is more likely upstream at the household supply or the shut-off under the sink than in either drawer.
Water and detergent
Many homes around Boston get soft reservoir water, which means a smaller detergent dose in each drawer is usually enough. Heavy dosing can leave film on glasses and residue on the lid seal.
In outer towns on well water, adjusting for hardness and keeping rinse aid filled helps prevent scale.
Questions
FAQ — Fisher & Paykel Dishwasher repair
Can't see yours? Just ask us.
Why is only one drawer working?
Each drawer has its own motor, pump and lid seal, so a fault in one does not stop the other. The technician isolates the drawer that has failed.
My DishDrawer is leaking. What should I check?
Make sure nothing is sticking up above the drawer and blocking the lid. If the leak continues, stop using it and book a visit.
Can both drawers fail at once?
It is less common, and when it happens the incoming water or power is the first suspect. The technician checks the supply before opening either drawer.
